Flater's Flambeau Point Resort

Participants will Grind it out as they race along the Flambeau River, over hills and around trails as they follow mostly Gravel roads through the Flambeau Flowage of Rusk County  in the 1st Flambeau Gravel Grinder in 2018.
Flambeau Gravel Grinder (FGG) Race Rules and General Information:

Safety is our main concern. Helmets most be worn and fasteed during the race.

The FGG will have three race distances to choose from.

19-mile race consists of 15% Snowmobile/ATV trails, 36% Gravel and 47% Asphalt.

30 mile race consists of 10% Snowmobile/ATV trails, 70% Gravel and 20% Asphalt

60 mile race consists of 5% Snowmobile/ATV trails, 80% Gravel and 15% Asphalt.

All races will start at the Rusk County Fairgrounds and finish on the beach in Memorial Park.

All roads are open to traffic and all riders should expect light vehicular traffic, farm equipment and wildlife.

We will have a police escort until we get out of downtown Ladysmith.

For the last half (½) mile of the race we will block off the right shoulder of HWY 8. All riders MUST stay within the blocked off area.

Please observe all stop signs and listen to our volunteer’s instructions at cross roads.

We will have two pit stops for the 30 and 60 miles races. You are responsible for your bike repairs, water and food.

Support vehicles are allowed ONLY at the pit stops. All vehicles wanting to go to the pit area will be given direction.

We suggest you use  any type of bike that you feel comfortable on, whether that be MTB, Gravel, road or single speed.

Cue sheets will be given to all riders at registration and extras will be available at the start.
We will have children’s races, entertainment, awards ceremonies and food and drink vendors until and after the rider’s finish.

There will be canoe and kayak rentals all day.

Please come for the race then stay for the rest of day  enjoying the woods and water of beautiful Rusk County and the Flambeau River System

Note: Event will take place rain or shine; all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cyclists will ride at their own risk and must wear a helmet.   Registration requires waiver.
